Late last week, Governor Wolf announced that Westmoreland County would move to the yellow phase of his reopening plan on May 15. While we are excited to get back to serving our communities, public libraries in Westmoreland County will remain closed to the public until we receive guidance from the Pennsylvania Departments of Education and Health.
WLN member libraries are developing their own reopening plans with a focus on staff and community safety. When we do reopen, our services will look a bit different as we adhere to guidelines related to social distancing, masking, and quarantining materials. We thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate reopening in this unprecedented time. For the most up-to-date information about reopening plans, please visit your local library’s Facebook page.
In the meantime, please keep your library materials until we announce that libraries are accepting returns. We are automatically renewing all items and waiving all fines during this closure.
Thank you for your continued support. We’ll see you soon!
We will continue to update you as more information becomes available.
